Associate Architect

We're adding an Associate Architect to our team in Denver. We're in the office two days a week, on site visits as needed, and work from home options for the remainder of the week. Our work covers most commercial building types, including multi-family, office, retail, industrial, mixed use, and hotel/hospitality.
Essential FunctionsAct as a technical team member and small project lead
Collaborate within a Marx Okubo project team, using your strong technical knowledge in building envelope reviews and evaluations in building design construction, and post-occupancy
Build rapport with the client, internal team, consultants and site contact
Learn and convey an overall understanding of the clients' project(s) supported
Review and analyze building construction and condition, perform building evaluations on existing and new construction
Review and analyze contract documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, and budgets
Prepare detailed formal reports formatted to company and client specifications
Travel approximately 25-50% of the time both in and out of state
Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree or higher in Architecture
Licensure in Colorado
7-12 years industry related experience preferred
Technical level understanding of most building types
Thorough understanding of construction processes, activities and scheduling
Construction administration experience, construction contract types and forms
Solid understanding of building materials and methods and the technical aspects of building enclosures, structures, and systems
Working knowledge of accessibility standards (FFHA and ADA) a plus
Proficiency in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Plan Grid, Box or equivalent
High-level organizational, time management, communication, and collaboration skills
Willingness to travel
Physical RequirementsCandidates should have the ability to:
Operate a computer (keyboarding) and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier/scanner/printer
Use visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens
Move through construction and existing building sites over rough terrain
See and respond to dangerous situations
Respond quickly to sounds
Ascend and descend ladders and stairs
Move safely through confined spaces and narrow paths
Work in outdoor weather conditions or unconditioned areas
Travel approximately 25-50% of the time both in and out of state

The starting base salary range listed for this role is $100,000-$130,000 though may vary based on aligned experience level and location.
