The College of Arts & Media (CAM) invites dynamic educators and creative professionals to join our faculty as a full‑time Assistant Teaching Professor specializing in Sound & Video Production for Film & Television. The role opens in August 2026 and offers an opportunity to inspire tomorrow’s filmmakers in the heart of Denver.

The BFA in Film & Television provides intensive, practical training that requires completion of numerous film/TV projects, from fiction to documentary. The cohort‑based curriculum allows students to progress together through seminars and hands‑on projects. Graduates enter the industry at entry‑level positions, launch their own creative careers or continue to graduate studies. The program is recognised on Movie Maker Magazine’s Top 30 Best Film Schools list for four consecutive years.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching (80 %) – Deliver three classes per semester (9 credit hours) for a total of 18 credit hours per academic year. Core courses include Sound for Film & TV, Lighting, Grip & Sound, and Introductory Production. Advanced courses may include Producing, The Business of Film, Editing and Documentary Production.
- Program Development (10 %) – Guide the growth of the department’s audio‑post capabilities within budgetary constraints.
- Creative/Research (10 %) – Maintain an active scholarly or creative practice in sound and video production.
- Service (10 %) – Engage in departmental, college and university service activities.
- Preferred MFA; may substitute with an MA, BFA or BA plus 3‑5 years of significant industry experience.
- Proven experience in post‑production audio on industry‑level productions, including extensive use of Adobe Audition and field sound recording.
- Significant professional and production expertise in at least one of the following:
Producing, Cinematography, Editing or another on‑set role. - Track record of teaching and mentoring students at the college or university level.
- Proficiency with professional production gear, including cameras and lighting equipment.
- Experienced user of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Working knowledge of Pro Tools.
- Familiarity with ADR and Voice‑Over.
Salary range: $60,000 – $65,000, depending on experience, education and other factors. The position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
