KCNC/TV is looking for an aggressive and creative Reporter. If your passion is serving your community through great journalism, then we are the newsroom for you.
Our newsroom moves fast and works together. You'll collaborate daily with a tight‑knit team of journalists covering everything from breaking news and severe weather to sports and the issues shaping life across Colorado. We look for people who thrive under deadline pressure, and care about telling stories that serve and reflect the communities that surround KCNC.
Responsibilities- Report scripted and unscripted, with clarity, accuracy, and confidence; cover breaking news with a sense of urgency
- Collaborate effectively with a wide range of personnel to create compelling content; develop and execute enterprise content on a consistent basis
- Maintain a steadfast commitment to accuracy and fairness
- Write clearly and interestingly and use video and graphics to illustrate facts and ideas in the story; shoot, write and edit packages for daily newscasts
- Strong live shot skills a must
- Generate story ideas and participate in editorial meetings; produce content for social media and streaming services
- Appear at public and station events, as required; establish and maintain relationships/sources in the community
- Three years’ experience on air, preferably in a top 20 market
- Must be able to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and have the ability to solve problems quickly
- Must have very strong social media skills and be able to contribute on all platforms
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays & ON CALL shifts
- Must have a valid US driver’s license with unrestricted ability to drive
- College degree preferred or equivalent experience
