You will serve as a Public Safety Dispatcher responding to incoming emergency and non‑emergency calls, obtaining and disseminating accurate information in an efficient, expedient, and professional manner. Your primary duties include dispatching emergency and non‑emergency response to police, security, fire, and EMS, coordinating with local jurisdictions, and maintaining positive and professional communication with all citizens and emergency responders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone calls, obtaining complete and accurate information to determine urgency and need for dispatch.
- Dispatch the appropriate police and/or security resources while coordinating fire, ambulance, or other emergency response; track each unit’s status and location, and transmit messages and information to units.
- Maintain positive and professional written and verbal communication skills at all times and consistently provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain confidentiality for citizens, emergency responders, and employees, adhering to all federally mandated rules and regulations for multimodal public transportation.
- Monitor and manipulate multiple CCTV systems district‑wide, switching between properties and cameras to detect illegal, suspicious, or dangerous activities.
- Perform all other job‑related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute while entering data relayed over the phone, radio, or other audio input.
- Willingness to submit to an extensive background investigation, including records verification, reference checks, psychological, polygraph, and drug screening examinations.
- Experience in military or civilian law enforcement, security, fire, medical services, or transit dispatching.
- Customer service experience, including public facing, call center, complaint resolution, and data entry.
- Strong computer skills.
- Retention and accurate recall of information.
- Strong multi‑tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to adapt to constantly changing situations and take appropriate action quickly.
- Capacity to perform detailed work with high accuracy during stressful situations.
- Remain calm and effective even during heavy workloads.
- Exercise good judgment in prioritizing emergent and non‑emergent situations.
- Work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to maintain 24‑hour coverage 365 days a year.
- Follow complex verbal and written instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate with others and assimilate information consistently with job functions.
- Make sound decisions aligned with essential responsibilities.
- Speak and hear clearly with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain required certifications through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials.
Physical Requirements
The work environment is primarily an office setting with occasional exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental conditions. Duties involve frequent sitting, speaking, hearing, standing, walking, and using hands for manual tasks. Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision. Employees may be required to work in adverse weather conditions occasionally.

Pay Range$59,796.00 - $84,462.00 Annual
