Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary:

The Instrument Coordinator will be responsible ordering instruments to assist in onboarding new surgeons/service lines and maintain quality/working order of current instrument sets at both Presbyterian St. Luke’s and Rocky Mountain Children’s. He/she will also be responsible for the activities related to decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of instruments for procedures. The technician performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s

and Rocky Mountain Children’s. They assist in the training and competency assessment of staff. The Instrument Coordinator serves as the Customer Service Specialist with OR staff, surgeons and other departments they serve to resolve issues and enhance service. The Instrument Coordinator monitors quality assurance, documentation, and policy and procedure adherence. They are responsible to assist in ordering needs of the department, including but not limited to, instrumentation, supplies, etc.

Provides asset management and support of surgical instruments and trays belonging to or consigned to the facility, in accordance with The Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards. Works with Clinical Coordinators to…
