Design Intern; Fall

Overview

In the role of Design Intern (Fall 2026). HDR is an employee-owned company focused on inclusive culture and community impact. The role contributes to architecture projects within HDR's practice, supporting design development and collaboration across architects, planners, designers, and technical staff.

• Offer real-world experience on projects
• Connect with recent graduates and company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
• Perform assignments under the supervision of an Architect, Project Manager, or other professionals
• Participate in the architectural design process, and develop alternative solutions and presentation graphics for concepts to clients or for agency approval
• Follow through on design development drawings and models, and collaborate with production staff for technical details and construction drawings
• Perform other duties as needed

• 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
• Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
