This role offers the opportunity to work on complex retail, restaurant, and commercial projects while developing expertise in project delivery, code compliance, and construction administration.
About Our PracticeOur boutique architecture firm specializes in retail, restaurant, and commercial design throughout the eastern US, and is now branching into the central US. We maintain long‑term relationships with national clients and local businesses, delivering projects from initial feasibility studies through design, construction, and occupancy. Our work requires rigorous attention to regulatory requirements, budget management, and schedule coordination.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Architect Level III, you'll be involved in all phases of our projects, from conceptual design through construction administration. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with firm leadership to:
- Coordinate project phases from programming through construction administration, ensuring deliverables meet schedule and budget requirements.
- Develop comprehensive construction documents, specifications, and details in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Navigate zoning requirements, building codes, and permit processes for commercial and mixed‑use developments.
- Serve as primary project contact, managing client communications and project expectations.
- Conduct site visits, review submittals, process RFIs, and coordinate with contractors to ensure design intent is realized.
- Perform thorough reviews of drawings and specifications to maintain project standards and minimize construction issues.
- Manage relationships with consultants, contractors, and suppliers throughout project lifecycle.
- 8+ years of experience, with a focus on retail/restaurant/commercial design. Although retail or hospitality experience is preferred, lacking this exposure will not preclude strong candidates from being considered.
- Professional license or active pursuit of licensure.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and technical documentation standards.
- Demonstrated experience with construction administration and permit processes.
- Strong understanding of accessibility requirements, building codes, and zoning regulations.
- Strong technical proficiency in construction documentation, detailing, specifications, and drawing coordination.
- Experience coordinating with MEP consultants and structural engineers required; additional consultants and engineers a bonus.
- Professional Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degrees preferred.
- Professional license or on track for licensure.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship need.
- Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and 401(k) plan.
- Performance‑based bonus structure and profit‑sharing program.
- Professional development support and continuing education opportunities.
- Licensure assistance and mentorship.
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
- Paid time off and holiday schedule.
- Position would be local to Denver, CO, but supporting projects throughout the US.
