Architectural Designer; environmental infrastructure

Introduction

Brown and Caldwell (BC), a nationally recognized environmental engineering firm, has an exciting opportunity for a Architectural Designer to join our Architectural team. We are a growing team focused on designing facilities related to water, wastewater, and environmental infrastructure.

• Assist in the creation of plans for building design.
• Help determine specifications for building design.
• Participate in regulatory code reviews to ensure project compliance.
• Assist with studies of existing conditions, document findings, and generate reports.
• Participate in building material selection and review.
• Assist with creation of RFIs and addendums.
• Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.
• Begin the AXP (Architectural Experience Program) enrolment and documentation.

• Basic knowledge in architecture and building design.
• Preliminary understanding of regulatory codes and compliance requirements.
• Key skills in working with coordinated and collaborative teams.
• Ability to handle basic architecture-related tasks and create accompanying documentation.

• Typically requires a minimum of 0-2 professional or related experience.
• Encouraged to certify in BC's Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Framework in the first six months of the role.

• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of construction documents, construction technology and building systems.
• Knowledge of building codes and national standards.
• Passion for design excellence, collaboration and willingness to learn.
• Experience with architectural modeling, detailing and drawing production.

• A degree in architecture or related field or equivalent experience is required.
• The role shall start the AXP (Architectural Experience Program) process within six months of starting the role.

Location A: $71,000 - $96,000

Location B: $78,000 - $106,000

Location C: $85,000 - $115,000
