Introduction
Brown and Caldwell (BC), a nationally recognized environmental engineering firm, has an exciting opportunity for a Architectural Designer to join our Architectural team. We are a growing team focused on designing facilities related to water, wastewater, and environmental infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Assist in the creation of plans for building design.
- Help determine specifications for building design.
- Participate in regulatory code reviews to ensure project compliance.
- Assist with studies of existing conditions, document findings, and generate reports.
- Participate in building material selection and review.
- Assist with creation of RFIs and addendums.
- Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.
- Begin the AXP (Architectural Experience Program) enrolment and documentation.
- Basic knowledge in architecture and building design.
- Preliminary understanding of regulatory codes and compliance requirements.
- Key skills in working with coordinated and collaborative teams.
- Ability to handle basic architecture-related tasks and create accompanying documentation.
- Typically requires a minimum of 0-2 professional or related experience.
- Encouraged to certify in BC's Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Framework in the first six months of the role.
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of construction documents, construction technology and building systems.
- Knowledge of building codes and national standards.
- Passion for design excellence, collaboration and willingness to learn.
- Experience with architectural modeling, detailing and drawing production.
- A degree in architecture or related field or equivalent experience is required.
- The role shall start the AXP (Architectural Experience Program) process within six months of starting the role.
Location A: $71,000 - $96,000
Location B: $78,000 - $106,000
Location C: $85,000 - $115,000
