Apparel Developer – Fit Specialist

The Senior Fit Specialist is a technical craftsperson who owns fit from prototype through production, translating design intent into garments that perform, feel right, and hold their shape across a full range of bodies and activities. Working across four distinct brands — Spyder, Venom, Billabong Snow, and Tommy Hilfiger Alpine — this role brings deep pattern making and fit expertise to every stage of development, independently managing fit priorities and standards unique to each brand while partnering closely with Design, Merchandising, Product Development, and Factories to keep our product creation process fast, accurate, and consistent.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Fit Specialist leverages deep pattern making expertise and physical fit sessions alike to solve problems early, reduce sample cycles, and ensure every category reflects our fit standards season after season.

• Own the fit development schedule and prototype review cadence across Spyder, Venom, Billabong Snow, and Tommy Hilfiger Alpine, balancing priorities and calendars across all four brands.
• Independently fit and evaluate physical prototypes — including size run fittings — on fit models and physical fit forms.
• Drive fit intent and fit consistency through clear pattern corrections, visual adjustments, and precise written comments.
• Enter and maintain fit comments in the PLM system, ensuring changes are communicated clearly and accurately to manufacturers.
• Build and maintain a library of physical fit blocks, standards, and guidelines for each brand, ensuring every product stays true to its distinct fit identity.
• Manage hiring and scheduling of fit models, and maintain ideal measurement database for vetting candidates.

• Partner with Designers, Merchandisers, Product Developers, and Factory Partners to keep communication and decision-making moving smoothly across the calendar.
• Serve as a go-to resource on fit for cross-functional partners, offering guidance without formal oversight.

• Champion pattern making-driven process improvements as a way to operate more efficiently and compress development calendars and budgets.
• Identify opportunities to streamline the fit process in support of sustainability and speed to market.
• Maintain knowledge of changing marketplace fit standards and trends.
• Take on other fit-related responsibilities as needed to support the team through peak workload.

• 5+ years of experience in pattern making, fitting, and technical development.
• Demonstrated knowledge of apparel fit analysis, grading, construction, and pattern making.
• Proven ability to work independently, managing multiple seasonal calendars in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills, with clear, accurate written and verbal communication to offshore vendors and manufacturers.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Illustrator, and PLM programs.
• Ability to lift fit forms and stand for extended periods during fit sessions.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• Salary range $85,000–$95,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
