We offer a stimulating and supportive environment that prioritizes both patient care and physician well-being in state-of-the-art facilities completed in 2021. Candidates with strong interests in education, research, social media outreach, and/or health policy that match the mission of the institution are encouraged to apply. Numerous opportunities for growth exist in each of these areas within the division with dedicated mentors and collaborators.

Denver Health aims for a world-class breast imaging division focused on delivering efficient, productive, and cutting-edge clinical care; a robust and growing educational program for students, residents, and fellows; and a research portfolio focused on collaboration with others inside and outside the department. All faculty at Denver Health have faculty appointments at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Key Position Benefits:

  • 100% breast imaging position with no evening hours or weekend call requirement.
  • Academic trainee-driven environment - teach and work alongside motivated residents and fellows!

  • Optional internal moonlighting available for general ED call shifts.

Position Summary:

The candidate being sought will participate in the delivery of the full spectrum of breast imaging services, including procedures, tomosynthesis, contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM), breast ultrasound, and breast MRI. Denver Health breast imagers participate in the education of University of Colorado medical students, radiology and IR/DR residents, and fellows. There is a strong desire to continue to expand our educational offerings for students and trainees. The department values patient-centered care and a highly collaborative work environment. There is a strong working relationship with surgery, oncology, primary care and other services.

Reporting Structure:

The radiologist will report to the Department Chair of Radiology with direct mentorship and supervision from the Chief of Breast Imaging. The department benefits from excellent administrative support. Most radiology staff (technologists, radiology RNs, transporters, etc.) report within the department, not to an external hierarchy, so there is alignment of staff and faculty towards the goals of the department.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • D., D.O. or foreign equivalent medical degree; board certification in Radiology; fellowship training and/or extensive experience in breast imaging including breast MRI and tomosynthesis preferred; eligibility for licensure in Colorado
