Overview
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is seeking high school and first-year college students to join our Science Camp team. If you love inspiring curiosity for science in kids ages 4-12 and want to do so in an informal and fun environment, this role may be for you. This position will assist the Science Camp team in the implementation of Summer Camp programs, while growing and strengthening educational skills and pedagogy.
Job Class: Part Time
Hiring Range: $19.29
Work Schedule: 8 a.m.

Hours:
This is a seasonal job with fluctuating hours:
- May 2 to June 1 — Pre-camp
- June 1 to August 7 — Camp
- August 7 to August 21 — Post-camp
- Assist Camp Educators with:
- Classroom management — aid educators with group ratios (bathroom breaks, camper lunch breaks, and educator breaks) and support campers with program activities
- Program material preparation — support camp staff in preparing materials and supplies for program activities, as well as program set up and clean up
- Support an inclusive, dynamic, and visitor-focused experience for program participants
- Communicate and work collaboratively with a team of camp aides, educators, and camp directors
- Maintain prompt and frequent communication with supervisors, ensuring that instructions are followed and problems are communicated immediately
- Conduct work within the safety guidelines of the Museum, ensuring personal safety and the safety of campers while following state license requirements for licensed childcare centers (under the guidance of supervisors)
- Must be between 16-18 years old at the time of hire
- Ability to clearly communicate and work well with others
- Must be able to work the entire term stated
- Bilingual English/Spanish with $1 pay differential
- Interest in pursuing a career in Education or Science field
- Ability to be flexible and multi-task
- Ability to learn content quickly
- Enthusiasm for working with and engaging children with patience and empathy
