Elementary School Paraprofessionals:
Elementary school paraprofessionals work with young children on foundational skills like reading and math, helping to manage classroom activities and providing one-on-one or small group support to ensure that each child gets the attention they need. Reinforces and provides tutoring for students who fail or have difficulty comprehending the material of designated curricula (e.g., reading, writing, science, social studies, mathematics) presented by the teacher.

New hires will be set at $21.787 per hour. The salary range for internal candidates is $21.78 to $25.72 per hour.  for more information on compensation for these roles.

What You'll Do:

* Assists in conducting testing and assessment, multi-media activities, general office and clerical tasks, record-keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities as directed

* Prepares and sets-up educational materials

* Assists and supports the development of lesson plans and provides feedback to teacher(s)/supervisor(s) on individual students

* Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, computer-based instruction, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods

* Assists individuals and small student groups and reinforces learning concepts presented by teachers

* Communicates and coordinates with students and parents about routine issues in their native language

* Supervises and monitors students at assigned site and reinforces positive student behaviors and student related administration policies and rules

* Discusses and coordinates instructional efforts with teachers and educational staff

* Maintains the confidentiality of student information

* Completes training programs and attends meetings as required
