CCCS is creating a new division of Workforce Solutions and Innovation to advance Colorado’s economic mobility goals by aligning CCCS programs with documented workforce demand, expanding credentials of value, and creating seamless pathways from education to employment. We seek a Vice Chancellor for Workforce Solutions & Innovation to lead this division – a strategic leader who can advance a more integrated, outcomes-driven postsecondary talent development system for Colorado.
This role will provide system-level direction for workforce alignment, employer and sector engagement, credentials of value, work-based learning and apprenticeships, Career and Technical Education (CTE) administration, and workforce data transparency. This role is intentionally designed to be actively engaged with colleges and academic leadership in the co‑evaluation, co‑design, and continuous improvement of workforce‑aligned programs and pathways.

Responsibilities- Provide system‑level leadership for aligning workforce, career and technical, and academic programs with statewide and regional labor market demand in partnership with colleges and academic units.
- Identify and support revenue generating opportunities for workforce and career initiatives at both the system and college levels.
- Serve as the primary system‑level convener and representative for employer, sector, and industry partnerships.
- Coordinate CCCS engagement with regional talent initiatives, workforce regions, chambers of commerce, industry associations, and state and federal workforce and economic development entities.
- Translate employer input into actionable program design, curriculum updates, work‑based learning opportunities, and faculty industry engagement, in collaboration with colleges and academic leaders.
- Provide executive oversight for CCCS’s statewide Career and Technical Education (CTE) responsibilities, including Perkins V administration and compliance.
- Collaborate with colleges, secondary partners, and state agencies to strengthen program quality, relevance, and workforce alignment across CTE pathways.
- Lead systemwide strategy for expanding and scaling work‑based learning, including paid internships, apprenticeships, clinical placements, and other experiential learning models.
- Lead CCCS’s systemwide implementation of Comprehensive Learner Records (CLRs) and Learning and Employment Records (LERs) that support a Talent Marketplace.
- Partner with Institutional Research, Information Technology, Academic Affairs, and external agencies on data integration and workforce analytics initiatives.
- Serve as an active member of the Chancellor’s Executive Leadership Team, contributing to systemwide strategy, policy development, and organizational leadership.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, or a combination of relevant education and experience in workforce or economic development, education, business, industry or government that equates to the required degree.
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in workforce development, education to employment strategy, or related fields. Must include experience establishing and leading workforce programs or initiatives.
