Min‑Mid Annual Salary Range: $56,085.00 – $75,142.00 (Effective 08‑16‑2025)
RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the music education of students in grades K‑5. This includes helping children grow in their understanding, enjoyment, appreciation, and performance of music through a variety of planned music experiences including singing, listening, moving to music, playing of instruments, creation, and evaluation of music.
- Plan, teach skills and concepts; and assess and reflect utilizing the Jeffco Public Schools instructional model, music curriculum tools, and Colorado Academic Standards in music.
- Plan and provide a balanced instructional music program, using one or more elementary music instructional methodologies.
- Create a motivational classroom climate conducive to learning for all students.
- Select appropriate curriculum tools, music, books, and instructional aids to enhance learning.
- Guide students as they engage with and appreciate the arts and support them in becoming life‑long creators.
- Provide differentiated instruction to help students build musical skills.
- Utilize a variety of age‑appropriate repertoire.
- Seek out opportunities for professional growth in music; implement your learning in your practice; and reflect to allow for personal growth.
- Inventory and maintain school‑owned music, musical instruments, and equipment to prevent loss or abuse. Make minor adjustments and/or request repairs to instruments as needed.
- Communicate with parents and school staff on student progress.
- Collaborate with district and articulation area colleagues to grow a thriving and active vocal music program from elementary to middle to high school.
- Collaborate with community members for the benefit of students.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must hold a valid Colorado teaching license or authorization.
- Must meet content‑area qualifications, which could include the appropriate license endorsement, degree in the content area, and Colorado State Board of Education approved content exam.
Instructional experience in a music classroom.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT- Strong personal musicianship.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate and teach vocal and instrumental techniques and knowledge of pedagogy.

A successful external applicant will be issued a probationary contract. A successful internal applicant that currently holds a probationary or non‑probationary contract with Jeffco Public Schools will maintain that contract status.
