Job TitleLower Division ECE (Pre‑K) Teaching Assistant for the school year (Full‑time or part‑time).
Job DescriptionOur teaching assistants work in a team setting with the Pre‑K teaching team. TAs work closely with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of all learners. They engage in a coaching and professional development program designed specifically for their role. Assistant teachers have experience with a diverse population of learners, differentiated instruction, and future‑ready teaching practices. They are positive members of the school community and enjoy collaborating with a team and building positive relationships among all constituents.
Qualifications- Education/Certification:
PDIS Early Childhood Professional Credential 3.0 with at least a Level 2 (or willingness to attain credential); BA preferred - Special Knowledge/
Skills:- Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of future‑ready/21st century skills and success in focusing on them in the classroom
- Familiarity with best practices for student engagement and classroom management
- Ability to support creating an environment of respect, kindness, and inclusivity for all students
- Experience and comfort with play‑based learning and outdoor education
- Familiarity with Reggio‑inspired, loose parts, and environmental ECE curriculum (preferred)
- Comfortable speaking with parents about student learning and behavior
- Comfortable supporting students in navigating social‑emotional situations
- Complete 15 hours of professional development annually, some provided by DJDS
- Hebrew language proficiency desired
- Experience:
At least three years of experience working with children (preferred)
- Participate in ongoing professional development as relevant
- Participate in faculty meetings as relevant
- Collaborate with teachers to differentiate and meet the needs of students in the classroom
- Meet with classroom teachers on a regular basis to ensure clear communication regarding classroom expectations
- Supervise students in the classroom, during late‑start care, and at lunch and recess
- Meet with the administration and teachers at the beginning of the year to establish working relationships and set goals for the work together
Range starting at $31 K annually for the full‑time position, commensurate with education and experience.
