Position Summary
The Department of Nutrition at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) is inviting applications for temporary, part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions. The primary responsibility is to teach one or more credit hours as determined by the department.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines for undergraduate and graduate courses, including Introduction to Nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy, Community Nutrition, and other content areas.
- Conduct student assessments and adhere to university and department policies and procedures regarding students and faculty.
- Be available for consultation with students outside of class either in‑person or remotely.
- Adapt to and employ new modes of instruction as needed.
- Engage with a diverse student population and demonstrate sensitivity to the educational needs of students who are historically underrepresented or first‑generation.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Nutrition or a related field to teach undergraduate level courses.
- Doctorate in Nutrition or a related field is required to teach graduate level courses.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
- At least two years of teaching experience relevant to one or more of the content areas.
- Previous experience teaching in an online environment.
- Experience with diverse, historically underrepresented and/or first‑generation college students.
Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired to teach on a per‑credit‑hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
SalaryPay per credit hour assignment ranges from $1,264 to $1,482, based on university policy.
