Position OverviewThe Architectural Technology Program provides workforce education and training to students, leading to certificates and degrees. The department supports digital design training for students in CCD’s Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing programs. This is a full‑time in‑person faculty position teaching a range of introductory‑to‑advanced courses. Faculty will share in administration, collaborate on projects and service to the program, pathway, and college.
Primary Duties- Teach introductory and advanced architecture, engineering, and construction courses in face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online formats.
- Develop and deliver courses using modern tools and student‑centered, andragogical frameworks.
- Participate in department and college‑wide service activities, including program assessment, grant development, and community partnership initiatives.
- Contribute to curriculum development, hiring, and mentorship of adjunct instructors, and may assume administrative or leadership duties.
- Support student success through academic advising, wrap‑around services, and enrollment assessment.
- Embrace inclusive teaching practices and promote respectful, ethical, and professional conduct.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in architectural history, urban design or planning, landscape architecture, interior design, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, construction management, industrial design, or building science.
- Successful teaching experience in a community college or higher education setting.
- Experience teaching across multiple modalities (asynchronous, hybrid, synchronous remote, in‑person).
- Demonstrated inclusive, student‑centered, active learning, equity‑minded teaching approaches.
- Career and Technical Education credential through the Colorado Community College System (or ability to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Evidence of innovative use of AI in teaching.
- Established architectural hand‑drawing and sketching skills.
- Master’s or 5‑year bachelor’s degree in architecture.
- Currently licensed as a professional architect.
- LEED Accredited Professional certification.
- Experience in North American building design and construction techniques and assemblies.
- History of professional experience in collaborative architectural design processes.
- Capacity to build relationships with industry partners and professional organizations.
Learning management software such as Desire2
Learn, Blackboard, or Canvas; classroom equipment including document camera, personal computer/laptop, and whiteboard.
