Overview
The Staenberg-Loup JCC Early Learning School (ELS) is looking for qualified Lead Qualified Support Teachers to help create a fun and safe environment while providing educational programming to support children’s development and a diversity of needs within the classroom. The role supports multiple classrooms and works with classroom teachers to develop, implement, and provide a quality educational program that reflects the school’s goals.
Lead Qualified Support Teachers primarily aid in delivering the lesson plans and experiences crafted by Classroom Teachers. The ELS team is part of a larger JCC community that emphasizes an inclusive culture where everyone is welcome.
- Support multiple classrooms and assist Classroom Teachers in planning and implementing a daily curriculum according to developmentally appropriate practices and school values.
- Aid in delivering lesson plans and experiences crafted by Classroom Teachers.
- Work with groups of children using a constructivist approach to learning.
- Support school operations during Family-Teacher Conferences days, as requested.
- Maintain a cheerful, nurturing, healthy, safe, and clean classroom environment.
- Maintain attendance and injury records; manage storage, organization, and cleanliness of classroom materials.
- Communicate with Administrative staff and Classroom Teachers regarding classroom challenges and children’s progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school social/family education programs.
- Assist with parent conferences and attend school-wide events as needed.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to address classroom and school challenges.
- PDIS Early Childhood Teacher Credential 2.0 (Level III or higher) or PDIS Early Childhood Teacher Credential 3.0 (Level II or higher).
- First-Aid/CPR certification.
- BA/BS in a field related to Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Development.
- Basic knowledge of a constructivist approach to learning and/or emergent curricula.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of and respect for the Staenberg Loup Jewish Community Center rules, regulations, and Employee Handbook, with the ability to abide by them.
This position requires the ability to care for children’s physical needs regularly, interact with children at their level, and engage in activities such as bending, squatting, and floor play. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds may be required. The role involves movement around the building for weekly specials (music, Judaics, swimming). Flexibility with routines and active engagement in the JCC community are important.
BenefitsThis is a full-time and part-time position. Full-time employees are benefits-eligible.
