Part-Time Trainer - State

Role Description

This position would be ideal for a retired Colorado state employee with benefits expertise or prior HR experience.

GBE is seeking a knowledgeable Employee Benefits Trainer to educate and support Colorado state employees in understanding and effectively using their benefits. This role focuses on delivering clear, accurate, and engaging training related to state employee benefits programs, helping employees make informed decisions throughout the plan year and during life events.

This is a part-time position that would be great for a retired State employee.

• Develop and deliver training sessions on Colorado state employee benefits, including:
• Health, dental, and vision plans
• PERA retirement and voluntary savings options
• Leave programs (FAMLI, FMLA, sick and annual leave)
• Life and disability insurance
• Flexible spending accounts (FSA/HSA)
• Wellness and employee assistance programs.
• Translate complex benefits information into clear, employee-friendly language
• Respond to employee questions and provide general guidance (non-advisory).
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefit changes and state policies
• Create or update training materials, presentations, and reference guides

• Strong knowledge of Colorado state employee benefits or similar public sector benefit systems
• Experience facilitating group trainings or presentations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to explain technical information clearly and accurately

• Direct experience working with State of Colorado employees
• Familiarity with PERA and Colorado-specific benefits programs
• Experience delivering virtual training and webinars
