Position Summary
The Department of Engineering and Engineering Technology at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Responsibilities- Teach in person (on campus) part‑time in Mechanical Engineering Technology courses.
- Deliver course content to students in person or online.
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
- Grade student work and provide timely, robust feedback.
- Address student questions in accordance with university, college, and department policies.
- Provide academic support to students online or in person as needed.
- Instruct consistent with course content, learning objectives, and syllabus.
- Collaborate with department course coordination policies when required.
- Comply with university‑wide student evaluation of instruction and peer observation policies.
- Adapt and learn new modes of instruction as encouraged.
- Maintain sensitivity to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, plus four years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, plus four years of relevant experience.
- Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired to teach on a per‑credit‑hour basis for specific classes, usually semester‑by‑semester. Faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. Assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates are expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.
SalaryPay is $1264 – $1482 per credit hour, based on the number of credit hours assigned. Rates are determined by university policy.
