Lecturer of Acting
Part‑time lecturer position at the University of Colorado Denver, College of Arts & Media (CAM). FTE: .225 per 3‑credit course. Salary: $5,371.19 per 3‑credit course. Position # - Requisition #38968.

- The Film & Television department within the College of Arts & Media invites dynamic educators and creative professionals to join our collaborative faculty team as a part‑time Lecturer specializing in Acting.
- Teach acting and performance related courses for Film & Television including acting, directing, movement, and/or voice.
- Guide students through real‑world projects, helping them develop essential technical and artistic skills.
- Mentor aspiring professionals and contribute to shaping a program known for its collegiality, creative innovation, and commitment to student growth.
- Work within a national‑recognized program that offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television with an acting for the screen emphasis.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty and students in a cohort‑style curriculum that values on‑set collaboration between filmmakers and actors.
- Teach one or two classes per semester (3–6 credit hours).
- Provide instruction and assessment for acting and performance courses.
- Mentor students and facilitate their growth in the industry.
- Contribute to the development and continual improvement of the curriculum and student programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- MFA or BA in Acting.
- 3 years of professional experience in acting or directing for the screen.
- 2 years of teaching experience in acting for the screen at a high‑school, college, or community‑based level.
- MFA.
- More than 3 years of professional experience in acting or directing for the screen.
- Demonstrated mastery of professional vocal or physical pedagogies.
- Experience teaching acting for the screen at the college level.
- Voice:
Linklater, Fitzmaurice, etc. - Movement:
Alexander, Laban, Chekhov, Lecoq, Sensory Training, etc.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in acting for film and television.
- Ability to bridge traditional conservatory training with film‑specific applications.
- Ability to mentor and inspire students in a dynamic learning environment.
- Ability to contribute to a collaborative faculty culture.
- Capacity to help shape the future of a growing program.
Salary range: $5,371.19 per 3‑credit course. No benefits or overtime compensation. Salary determined by experience, education, etc.
