Position: Part-Time Physics & Astronomy Lab Instructor (In-Person)

Job Summary:

The Astronomy, Mathematics, and Physics Department is seeking affiliate faculty to teach in-person astronomy and physics laboratory courses, including:

- AS 251 Principles of Astronomy Lab- PH 205A General Physics Lab with Trigonometry I- PH 305A General Physics Lab with Calculus INote that affiliate faculty are hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, as needed, on a semester-by-semester basis.`Major

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide instruction and facilitate active problem-solving in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if appropriate, with Department course coordination policies
* Keep complete and accurate grade records.
* Evaluate student performance.
* Communicate regularly with students and the department chair, including via Regis-provided email.
* Maintain regular office hours to provide students with academic support appropriate for the teaching assignment- 1 hour per week
* Faculty will participate in designing their own course in consultation with the chair of the department.

* Minimum Qualifications:

** Master's degree in physics, astronomy, or closely related field.

* Preferred Qualifications:

** Teaching experience in physics, astronomy, or a related field.
** Special Instructions to Applicants:

* Work Schedule:

** Dependent on the course schedule and availability of selected candidates.
** This position will remain posted until filled, with a priority Final date to receive applications of June 19th, 2026.
** This position is benefits-eligible for workers' compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.##Pay Rate:$2,150 per lab course, per semester
