The Morgridge College of Education is looking to hire adjunct instructors for the academic year to teach a variety of graduate courses in the Library and Information Sciences department. Courses may vary. More information about the courses can be found on the Registrar's Office schedule of classes at https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). This posting will serve for multiple openings throughout the academic year.
Essential Functions- Teach in person or online once a week.
- Create and maintain the course Canvas container for onsite courses.
- Meet with students as needed to support their success.
- Provide assignment feedback and grades to students in a timely manner.
- Respond to emails from students and program leadership within 48 business hours.
- Participate in recruiting and informational events as needed.
- Master's Degree in a relevant content area (e.g., Library & Information Science or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program).
- Two years of professional experience in a library, archive, museum, or other information services setting.
- Teaching experience at the graduate level.
The University's administrative offices are open Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑4:30 pm, but faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website: https://.
Working Environment- Standard office environment.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.
- Ability to sit or stand in front of a computer for an extended period.
- Occasionally required to move about the office or campus.
