Enrollment Counselor

Full‑time, non‑exempt sales position reporting to the Assistant Director in the Office of Admissions for the College of Undergraduate Studies (CUS) at Colorado Christian University. This role uses marketing strategies and sales techniques to promote the university to prospective students and their parents. The counselor builds relationships with high‑school and college‑transfer students and their families to attract and enroll students in the undergraduate program.

Location:

Full‑on‑site in Lakewood, Colorado. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Apply proven marketing and sales techniques to help students and their families connect with Christian higher education.
  • Build rapport and guide prospective students during their university search; follow up with prospects, applicants, and admitted students via telephone, email, and other communication methods.
  • Promote the university by sharing CCU’s story and explaining how a Christ‑centered education fits the student’s long‑term goals.
  • Engage high‑school students, college transfer students, and other potential students with the traditional undergraduate program.
  • Perform a full‑function admission process, including reading applications, conducting student interviews, and making independent admission decisions.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet admission goals and objectives each academic year; manage information sessions, registration, preview weekends, and other related duties.
  • Support an assigned territory by identifying appropriate contacts, planning travel, holding student appointments, coordinating high‑school fairs, and arranging meetings with students, parents, and church representatives.
  • Manage one or more Student Ambassadors to assist with enrollment and academic activities.
  • Deliver public presentations to parents and prospective students; conduct campus tours and preview events.
  • Complete reports and paperwork: daily funnel updates, semi‑monthly status reports, evaluations, acceptance forms, GPA records, and credit‑card reconciliations.
  • Resolve enrollment barriers by working with students and schools to address transcript issues and improve the student experience.
  • Travel to high‑schools and college fairs across the country as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • One to three years of proven sales and marketing experience (two or more years preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member and as an individual contributor.
  • Ability to work in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency with admission software and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Self‑starting, energetic, results‑driven attitude.
  • Professional appearance and positive demeanor.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive distances; maintain liability insurance.
  • Spanish language communication skills considered an asset.
Work Environment

Requires walking, standing, sitting, reaching, stooping; typically sits at a desk and works on a computer. Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Travel in‑state and out‑of‑state; evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
