Position Summary
The Department of Psychological Sciences at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions in various psychology courses. Affiliate faculty will teach courses either in person or online and support the department’s mission of promoting diversity and inclusive education.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses in person or online, delivering content to students.
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
- Grade student work and provide timely, robust feedback.
- Address student questions and provide academic support consistent with university, college, and department policies.
- Ensure instruction aligns with course syllabus and departmental coordination policies.
- Comply with university‑wide student evaluation of instruction and peer observation policies.
- Adapt to new modes of instruction as needed.
- Master’s degree in psychology or a related field, or enrollment in a doctoral program in psychology.
- Teaching experience and demonstrated success in undergraduate psychology courses—including clinical/counseling, developmental/family studies, cognitive/biological/experimental, and social psychology.
- Doctoral candidate in psychology.
- Dissertation completed or defense pending in an appropriate field of psychology.
- Ph.D. in psychology.
Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired on a per‑credit‑hour basis with assignments typically on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Benefit coverage is not provided.
SalaryPay per credit hour ranges between $1,264 and $1,482, based on university policy.
