Position Summary

The Morgridge College of Education is looking to hire adjunct instructors for the  academic year to teach a variety of graduate courses in the Counseling Psychology. Courses may vary. More information about the courses can be found on the Registrar's Office schedule of classes at https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). This posting will serve for multiple openings throughout the  academic year.

Essential Functions
  • Teach in person once or twice a week (depending on course);
  • Create and maintain course Canvas container;
  • Meet with students as needed;
  • Assign papers, exams and other deliverables as appropriate;
  • Grade in a timely manner;
  • Participate in recruiting and informational events as needed;
  • If the course includes multiple sections, collaborate with instructors of other sections.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Successful teaching/facilitation experience with adults at the graduate level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD
  • Successful teaching/facilitation experience with adults in graduate education programs.
Work Schedule

While the University's administrative offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website at https://.

Working Environment
  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
  • Ability to sit or stand in front of a computer for an extended period.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.
