Position: SPECIALIST, ATTENDANCE

About this job:

Supports the implementation of evidence based instructional and operational practices that strengthen attendance systems. Builds and maintains cross functional and external partnerships to ensure all attendance initiatives align with district strategic priorities and support schools in implementing the revised DPS School Attendance System Model.

The EARSS Attendance Continuation Grant is a three (3) year grant ) that supports schools in building capacity for the implementation of the revised DPS School Attendance System Model.

What You'll Do:
  • Works with a caseload of schools to support implementation of the revised DPS School Attendance System Model, including evidence based attendance practices, intervention strategies, and systems for monitoring student engagement and attendance outcomes.
  • Supports the analysis and monitoring of grant and program related data, including both process and outcome measures, to evaluate implementation effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborates with school leaders, teammates, and central office departments to support school implementation of attendance initiatives and coordinate resources that address student and family needs.
  • Assists schools in developing, implementing, and monitoring attendance improvement plans aligned to district priorities and school specific data trends.
  • Supports the identification of barriers impacting student attendance and engagement through data review, root cause analysis, and collaboration with school based teams.
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration among schools, district departments, and community partners to strengthen coordinated student and family support systems.
  • Participates in professional learning opportunities, district meetings, and cross functional collaboration to strengthen knowledge of attendance practices, student engagement strategies, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Maintains documentation, reports, and program records in alignment with district expectations and applicable grant or compliance requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's or relevant work experience in Community Engagement, Attendance Systems, or School Improvement.
  • Master's Degree in Community Engagement, Attendance Systems, or School Improvement preferred.
  • Principal, SSP or Teaching License preferred.
  • Two years experience with leading school wide systems, preferably attendance systems and/or MTSS.
  • Two years experience working with school based teams or leading professional development programs with schools.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
