Our Approach to Student Culture Work
At Rocky Mountain Prep, student culture is foundational to academic excellence and rooted in dignity, belonging, and high expectations. Our approach blends proactive systems, restorative practices, and data‑driven interventions to build strong relationships and foster student growth. Through consistent expectations, culturally responsive practices, and a commitment to equity, we ensure all students develop the character, agency, and skills needed for college and beyond.
- Lead the implementation of school‑wide culture systems that promote safety, belonging, and high expectations, including restorative practices and behavior supports
- Ensure consistent, equitable application of discipline protocols aligned to anti‑bias and inclusive practices
- Conduct frequent classroom walkthroughs to reinforce strong culture, provide feedback, and support joyful, academically focused environments
- Partner with instructional leaders and teachers to align behavioral expectations with rigorous academic goals
- Build authentic, trust‑based relationships with students and families through home visits, proactive communication, and family partnership
- Collaborate with MTSS and attendance teams to analyze data and design Tier 1–3 interventions that increase engagement and reduce barriers to success
- Facilitate character development and social‑emotional learning groups that build student agency, identity, and community
- Respond to behavioral incidents with urgency and care, including mediations, crisis response, and compliance with Title IX protocols
- Model and coach staff to uphold consistent, culturally responsive practices that sustain a safe, inclusive, and joyful school culture
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least five years of experience supporting behavior in a school environment (this may include classroom teaching experience)
- Ability to build strong relationships quickly with a variety of stakeholders, including students, families, and staff
- Strong organizational and self‑management skills, with the ability to complete tasks on a deadline
- Pass a background check
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
Preferred:
- Special education experience
This is a full‑time position with a salary range of $75,000 to $86,000, based on experience and qualifications.
