Rider Assistant (Part-Time School Transportation Support)

Location: Denver, CO

Start Date: March 18, 2026

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Hours: 10 hours per week

Shifts

  • Morning: 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM
  • Afternoon: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $20/hour

Position Overview

Rider Assistants are trusted, vetted adult aides who provide one‑on‑one support for students during their rides to and from school. This role focuses on care, safety, and smooth transitions—ensuring each rider feels comfortable and supported throughout their trip.

This is a meaningful, part‑time opportunity to stay involved in your Denver community, earn supplemental income, and make a real difference in the daily lives of students and families.

No vehicle required.

You will NOT be driving – the Rider Assistant sits in the passenger seat while a trained driver operates the vehicle.

Your sole focus is monitoring and supporting the rider.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one‑on‑one support to a student during school transportation.
  • Monitor the rider to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Assist with transitions into and out of the vehicle.
  • Communicate concerns to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Maintain a calm, supportive presence throughout the ride.
Must‑Have Qualifications
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Reliable, independent transportation.
  • At least 3 years of experience caring for children (professional or personal).
  • Comfortable completing fingerprinting and background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Completion of TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X‑ray if applicable).
  • Experience working with students in school‑or center‑based settings.
