Adjunct Instructor Political Science

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Community College of Denver’s Department of Political Science is seeking applications for a part‑time adjunct instructor.

• Develop syllabi and course materials using culturally responsive pedagogy and adult learning theory.
• Teach courses as assigned using a variety of modalities (online, face‑to‑face, and/or hybrid).
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs.
• Incorporate, as pedagogically appropriate, current technology in classroom and distance learning.
• Utilize technology‑based programs to access and input information related to student records and college processes (e.g., Banner, D2L, grade books, etc.).

Master’s degree in political science or a closely related social science field.

Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated willingness to work with, and be sensitive to, the educational needs of a culturally diverse, urban population.
