Job Title: Academy Academic Advisor Intern

Reports To: Academy Head of School

Employment Type: Part-Time – Hourly – Non-Exempt

Role Overview

The Colorado Rapids Academy Audi Online School Program Academic Advisor Intern will support the Academy Head of School in providing academic support to approximately 60 high‑school‑aged Academy players. The core curriculum is delivered via an online school platform. The intern supervises and monitors the students in their daily academic activities, facilitates extra‑curricular sessions, and supports students’ progress toward high‑school graduation and NCAA eligibility.

Responsibilities
  • Support Head of School with student online school platform enrollment.
  • Supervise and monitor students during school block.
  • Advise and monitor students’ progress and grades through online school.
  • Record players’ attendance and absence.
  • Conduct weekly student check‑in sessions.
  • Support implementation of school policies and processes.
  • Assist in creating and facilitating extra‑curricular workshops and activities.
  • Support student progress toward high‑school graduation and NCAA eligibility.
  • Liaise with coaching staff to ensure athletic, academic, and holistic growth of the student.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
  • Typical office conditions.
  • Lift 50 lbs daily.
  • Work in extreme weather conditions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Education, High School Counseling, or a related field.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with NCAA eligibility requirements, high‑school graduation requirements, and post‑secondary academic pathways (college, trade school, professional).
  • Willingness to work non‑traditional hours, including some evenings and weekends, to align with the academy training and competition schedule.
  • Passion for the sport and interest in contributing to a high‑performance environment that integrates academic and athletic development.
Preferred Skills
  • High school teaching experience.
  • Expertise in a subject area (e.g., Math, Language Arts).
  • Proficiency in Spanish.
  • Ability to acquire or maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise & inspire students in classroom and remote settings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and personnel management.
  • Knowledge of academic curricula and academic advice.
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and routine business correspondence using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Complete work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work independently and in a group setting, demonstrating good judgment.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and adapt to changing environments.
Compensation
  • Base hourly range: $19.29 per hour.
Working Hours
  • 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Tuesday–Friday (hours may vary slightly depending on academy needs).
