Position Summary
The Department of Art at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions in Art Education.
Responsibilities- Teach one to three courses in art education, including arts and creative thinking, introductory art education, and inclusive art classroom.
- Deliver course content in person, remote, or hybrid settings.
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans, grade student work, provide timely feedback, and respond to student questions in accordance with university policies.
- Provide academic support as needed, comply with student evaluation of instruction and peer observation policies, and adapt teaching methods to new instructional modes.
- MA, MFA, or MAT in Art, Art Education, or related field.
- Three years of professional and/or teaching experience.
- MFA or Doctorate in Art or Art Education plus at least three years of K‑12 teaching experience.
- Knowledge of contemporary art education practice and theory.
- Experience working with diverse students, including students of color, LGBTQIA students, low‑income students, first‑generation students, students with disabilities, undocumented students, non‑traditional students, student veterans, and English language learners.
Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will workers hired on a per credit hour basis for specific courses. Positions are semester‑by‑semester and depend on budget and enrollment. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for the University’s benefit program and are expected to teach on campus upon hire.
SalaryPay per credit hour ranges from $1,264 to $1,482, determined by university policy.
