POSITION SUMMARY

The Teaching and Learning Transformation Hub (the Hub) houses the Tutoring and Learning Supports (TLS) department, the Library and Educational Resources (LER) department, and the Academic Professional Development (APD) department. This role works with the Executive Director to create welcoming, safe, and efficient spaces and processes that support student learning. The Hub Operations Coordinator takes a lead role in managing the Hub front desk and physical spaces, shaping customer experiences by providing quality customer service and clear access to and support for library and tutoring services.

This role schedules student staff, ensures front desk coverage, and provides operational support for the Hub’s physical spaces, including technology, signage, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The Hub Operations Coordinator hires, trains, and supervises student employees and collaborates with The Hub’s full‑time employees and other campus partners. This position will interact with students from diverse backgrounds, face-to-face, online, and over the phone.

This position will work on campus during the Hub’s hours of operation, which may include evenings and weekends.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee daily front desk operations for the Hub and maintain standards for maximizing the student experience in the Hub through exemplary customer service.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise student employees.
  • Assist students with general questions about the Hub’s services and other campus resources.
  • Provide information and assistance to students on the use of library systems, interlibrary loan program, and circulation of materials.
  • Provide clerical and office support, including space maintenance and organization, answering phone calls, and scheduling appointments for library services, tutoring services, and study space.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of student visits and usage data by monitoring student check‑in/check‑out at the front desk Kiosk so that services are recorded in the EAB Navigate system and questions are recorded in the tracking software.
  • Monitor computers, printers, and other equipment in the Hub to make sure equipment functions properly and submit work-orders as necessary.
  • Provide basic computer assistance to students and printer assistance to Hub visitors. Make referrals to IT and other departments as needed.
  • Serve as a point of contact for escalated student concerns.
  • Run basic data reports as requested by the Dean and Executive Director.
  • Manage room reservations and provide support for activities and events.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage for all hours of operation, including evenings and weekends; regular work hours for this position are Monday through Friday with the possibility of being on‑call on Saturdays.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of processes for different operational functions in the Hub.
  • Supports cross‑departmental initiatives and events.
  • Serve as a lead on the Student Experience Advisory Committee.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A college degree or certificate.
  • Experience providing clerical support and customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable environments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Professional experience with academic support services in higher education.
  • Office management experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, instructors, and staff.
  • Experience working in an academic library and knowledge of library circulation policies and procedures.
  • Digital skills to use multiple platforms or software, like data management systems or learning management systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and MS Teams.
