Affiliate Faculty Positions
The Department of Special Education, Early Childhood Education, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions.
Responsibilities include teaching no more than 9 credit hours per semester in areas such as foundation courses, developmentally appropriate practice courses, multicultural courses, literacy, science, social studies and mathematics methods courses, assessment courses, and classroom management courses. Some courses may require the instructor to be available during the school day to supervise clinical experiences and to be available for consultation with students before and after class.
Required qualifications include a master's degree. Preferred qualifications include a doctoral degree or ABD status.
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. They are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program. All teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment.
The final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy. Rate of pay per credit hour assignment can be between $1264 - $1482.
To apply, candidates must submit their curriculum vitae, cover letter, a list of three professional references and their contact information, and copies of all unofficial transcripts online through MSU Denver's career site. Official transcripts will be required of the candidate selected for hire.
