Position SummaryThe Morgridge College of Education is looking to hire adjunct instructors for the academic year to teach a variety of graduate courses in the Higher Education program. Opportunities depend on department needs and may not be available every year. Available courses may vary. More information about the courses can be found on the Registrar's Office schedule of classes at https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). This posting will serve for multiple openings that may arise throughout the academic year.
EssentialFunctions
- Teach in person or online in the format and schedule for the course (depending on course)
- Design a new course or adapt an existing one. This includes creating or utilizing existing learning outcomes, support materials, in partnership with HED faculty mentor
- Create a course calendar per the quarter system;
- Create and maintain course Canvas container;
- Meet with students as needed;
- Assign papers, exams and other deliverables as appropriate that align with the program's learning outcomes;
- Grade assignments within two weeks;
- Ensures the course embodies the values and goals of inclusion, and justice in course learning outcomes, lesson activities, readings, and other assignments;
- Ensure the equitable and accessible delivery of course content, learning activities, and assessments;
- Support student academic success through connecting them with campus resources, communication with faculty advisors and/or the department chair, and working affirmatively with students who have disability accommodations;
- Participate in onboarding and relevant professional development opportunities for adjunct faculty that may be provided by the department, college, and/or university;
- Participate in master's ePortfolios, dissertations of practice, or comprehensive exams if needed and as applicable.

- Relevant knowledge regarding the course content
- Previous teaching experience
- Professional experience in postsecondary settings and contexts
- Successful teaching/facilitation experience with adults at the graduate level
While the University's administrative offices are open Monday
- Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website: https://.

- Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.
- Ability to sit or stand in front of a computer for an extended period.
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Course Rate$1,290 per credit hour taught
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, available market information, and course enrollment but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
