Fifth Grade Teacher
Fort Logan Northgate is seeking a dynamic individual to join our 5th grade team for the upcoming school year. The applicant must be collaborative, aware of current productive pedagogical practices and eager to impact young people. The candidate chosen will be focused on supporting students in a differentiated classroom setting. Candidates must believe that all students can learn, have excellent classroom management skills and a strong understanding of how data can help inform intentional planning.
Qualifications for all teaching positions must hold a Colorado Alternative, Provisional or Professional Teaching License with appropriate endorsement. A bachelor's degree or higher required from an accredited university or college. Completed a state approved Teacher Preparation Program or participation in an Alternative Teacher License program. Passed PRAXIS exam in Colorado or in a CDE approved state.
General expectations include demonstrated knowledge and skill regarding the components of effective instruction. Demonstrated knowledge of content and teaching methods in area(s) of teaching assignment. Demonstrated knowledge of developmental needs of students. Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills. Evidence of ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative relationships with school personnel, students and parents. Demonstrated understanding and empathy necessary for working with students.
Key result areas and attendance responsibilities include instructional planning, instructional interaction (teaching), evaluation of instruction, instructional management, professional responsibilities, and general responsibilities.
Physical requirements may include standing and walking for extended periods; bend, stoop, and lift materials; reach for supplies on high shelves; use manual dexterity for tasks like writing and using technology; communicate clearly and effectively with students; climb stairs in multi-level buildings.
Clearance:
Must clear online background check and FBI Fingerprint check through Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
Salary:
Placement on Licensed Teacher salary schedule based upon previous teaching experience and highest degree and college credits earned after student teaching was completed. Current Board approved Licensed Teacher Salary Schedule and Salary Placement Policy are available for review on our district website.

Employees who are scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible to obtain district health benefits which include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and supplemental benefits.
