OverviewThe Educational Services Clinic (ESC) offers assessment services for families and DU students in the areas of cognitive, academic/achievement, attention and executive functioning, social emotional, and autism scales. The assessments are administered by graduate students in the School Psychology program in the Morgridge College of Education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally orally and in writing.
- Ability to maneuver around the office.
- Ability to greet families and help them to feel welcomed and comfortable.
- Ability to be highly organized.
- Ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel, specifically).
- Clinical skills when talking and working with parents/families.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Interest in the areas of psychology, psycho educational assessments.
- Currently enrolled or having passed with a B or better in CFSP 4304 or CFSP 4351.
- Work Study Award.
- Answer the clinic phone and answer caller’s questions regarding clinic process, fees, assessments offered, and waitlist procedure.
- Conduct phone intakes for future clients/families.
- Check in families for testing, complete confidential filing duties.
- Collect and log payments from families.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.
- Physical Activities
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period.
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
