These studios may be delivered in all teaching modes (in‑person, hybrid, online, remote). Lecturers must have expertise and experience in architectural design, including knowledge of design paradigms, skills, and approaches to project design.

Successful applicants must be able to develop and manage student projects through constructive criticism, using technologies ranging from technical drafting to advanced digital design tools and visualization software. For non‑studio courses, applicants must demonstrate expertise in the area of focus.

Applicants with other areas of expertise who wish to teach a three‑credit‑hour course should indicate this interest in a cover letter.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across various modalities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that support building positive, respectful relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff in a collegial academic environment.
  • Ability to develop a clear syllabus outlining learning outcomes, policies, and assessments for the class.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to different course formats (in‑person, online, hybrid) and student needs.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages respectful dialogue across diverse perspectives.
  • Ability to incorporate inclusive and equitable teaching practices that support student success.
  • A commitment to inclusive excellence, including supporting students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Conditions of Employment
  • The position may involve in‑person or hybrid work depending on the specific course(s) being taught. Working from the office is encouraged when tasks require a high degree of collaboration.
