Family Engagement Coordinator
Are you passionate about building bridges between schools, families, and the community? Weld County School District Re-8 is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and culturally responsive Family Engagement Coordinator. In this role, you will serve as the vital link between our families and school administration at your specific school site. We are seeking a dedicated liaison to fill this stipend position at each of our elementary, K-8, and middle school buildings:
Fort Lupton Middle School, Butler Elementary, Twombly Elementary, and Homyak K-8.
Please Note:
This position specifically covers our middle and elementary/K-8 buildings. There is no open position for the high school, as our District Family Engagement Liaison is housed out of Fort Lupton High School and directly manages those responsibilities.
- Liaison & Advocacy:
Serve as a trusted, accessible point of contact for families and school administrators. Help families navigate school systems, address concerns, and advocate for their children's educational needs. - Event Coordination:
Plan, promote, and execute high-impact, welcoming school and district-wide family engagement events (e.g., literacy nights, parent workshops, cultural celebrations, and back-to-school events). - Communication & Outreach:
Coordinate and ensure the distribution of multilingual communication materials (newsletters, social media updates, flyers) to keep families informed and engaged. - Community Resources:
Connect families with essential community resources through directing them to school based counselors/social workers/psychologists and/or community partnerships.
- After-Hours Availability:
This position requires after-hours work, including evenings and occasional weekends, to host events and accommodate parents' work schedules. - Willingness to meet after school in person or virtually as a family engagement team.
- Multi-Site
Collaboration:
You will spend some time among the four designated school family engagement coordinators and district coordinator, collaborating closely with multiple school based and district administration. - District Alignment:
You will work in close partnership with the District Family Engagement Liaison (housed at the High School) to ensure school-level events align seamlessly with district-wide goals and initiatives.
Certified Staff:
Experience and passion engaging all families. Bilingual
Skills:
Preferred (English/Spanish) but not required to effectively serve and communicate with our diverse community. If not bilingual, willingness to ensure translation and interpretation resources are readily available. Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal skills, public speaking ability, and a warm, empathetic approach to problem-solving. Organization:
Strong event management skills and organizational skills.
Stipend 30 - 80 Approved Hours $3000/year 80 - 120 Approved Hours $4000/year 120+ Approved Hours $5000/year
