Adjunct Faculty Openings

This is a general posting that will serve to create a pool of applicants for adjunct faculty openings throughout the  academic year. Should we have an opening and be interested in pursuing your application, we will contact you with specific information.

Position Summary

The Office of Internationalization offers three courses connected to study abroad, INTZ 2501, INTZ 2502 and INTZ 2503. This course, INTZ 2503 Learning to Return, is offered Winter and Spring quarters (potentially Fall in the future). This course is taught in person. This position includes preparing for and teaching at least 1 section per academic year for the Office of Internationalization.

Functions
  • Teaching weekly course content
  • Grading assignments
  • Being available for Office Hours
  • Coordinating with fellow instructors
  • Attend weekly faculty meetings and quarterly debriefs
  • Assisting with learning outcome assessment - Attend professional development opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to teach in affective learning environments utilizing an interactive classroom
  • Experience working on issues of identity, intercultural communication or global citizenship
  • Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in various modes of learning delivery
  • Openness to modeling self-reflection
  • Ability to teach in a highly structured format used across sections
Required Qualifications
  • MA in International Education or a related field
  • or an MA in another field and significant work related to International Education
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-MA coursework, PhD or equivalent in a field related to international education
  • Experience teaching on issues of identity, intercultural communication or global citizenship
  • Significant experience abroad
  • Ability to speak, read and write at least one language other than English
  • Experience teaching in INTZ 2501
Work Schedule

Varies with class schedule. While the University's administrative offices are open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).
