Job Title

Job DescriptionThe Admissions, Recruitment and Outreach (ARO) department serves as the first point of contact for potential students expressing an interest in the Community College of Denver. ARO is the primary resource for new, readmit, and transfer in student enrollment. The department coordinates recruitment and student outreach efforts in community settings and secondary education. The department also educates students about and assists with the onboarding and steps to enrollment and registration processes.
This position promotes the college to the general public and provides general college navigation, admissions and registration counseling and assistance to prospective students. This includes relationship-building and maintenance with key external contacts. The navigator promptly follows up with potential students via phone, written communications, web conferencing, and face to face interactions under the guiding philosophy "recruit to retain" and increase student enrollment.
Primary duties include:
- Recruitment, pre-enrollment, and registration
- Student support and retention
- Community engagement
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsMinimum qualifications include:
- Associate degree from an accredited institution
- Two (2) years of professional experience in higher education in admissions, financial aid, enrollment, advising, high school programs or a similar position
- Bilingual. Fluency in English and Spanish
Preferred knowledge/skills/abilities include:
- Knowledge of student information systems and software platforms
- Strong computer skills with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and relational databases
- Experience working in a community college or Hispanic Serving Institution
Other considerations include:
- Willingness to travel, extensive evening and weekend hours
- Capability of standing for long periods and handling large quantities of recruitment materials
