Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.

- Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including OSHA and the Denver Public Schools Safety Program.
- Identify and discuss with the safety manager on compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits.
- Advise the safety manager on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
- Plan and assist in training for employees in work site safety practices.
- Maintain safety files and records including site safety audits and follow‑up reports.
- Perform site safety surveys and inspections of DPS facility buildings and playgrounds, prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated, and follow‑up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Assist in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs.
- Prepare relevant safety presentations for department meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Three years of safety, health, and construction related safety industry experience.
- Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
