Overview
Well Power envisions a community where mental health is fostered through strength, resilience and hope. This role provides appropriate educational services to children with emotional disorders in a day treatment classroom setting.
The posted range represents the full hiring range. Offers will not exceed this range; the majority of candidates are placed near the midpoint based on experience and qualifications.
Team Specific InformationDahlia Campus is a partnership with Well Power and Northeast Park Hill community. We serve families and individuals and provide whole person care.
Responsibilities- Assess children’s educational, social, and life skills competencies.
- Develop individualized daily lesson plans based on the child’s IEP and the Denver Public School approved curriculum.
- Provide one‑on‑one or small group instruction.
- Keep records of student progress.
- Work with the treatment team in developing treatment plans.
- Collaborate with sending and receiving school districts on IEP and transition plans.
- Meet all requirements for teacher certification.
- Oversee classroom environment including paraprofessionals and counselors.
- Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Current Colorado License in Special Education, Highly Qualified or Highly Qualified Eligible in Elementary Education.
- TCI or other relevant certification preferred.
- Letter of Recommendation.
- Physical and TB screening.
- QMAP, CPR and First Aid Certifications within first 60 days.
- One year of experience as a Special Education Teacher.
- Experience working with severely mentally ill children preferred.
- Experience in Affective Needs Classroom or Milieu preferred.
- Ability to work with culturally diverse population.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational and administrative skills.
Monday‑Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
Physical RequirementsSitting, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lb. Manual dexterity required for standard office and clinical equipment.
