What You’ll DoClassroom Strategies and Behaviors:
Communicate learning goals and feedback, establish rules and procedures; help students interact, practice and deepen new knowledge, and generate and test hypotheses; engage students; recognize adherence to norms and procedures; establish and maintain effective relationships with students; support and communicate high expectations for all students. Support and maintain a classroom environment aligned with “Love and Logic” Principles.
Serve as Leadership, Finance, Entrepreneurship (LiFE) Coach:
Support engaging lessons daily, support development of strong Leadership, Finance, and Entrepreneurship (LiFE) skills in students. Support effective scaffolding of learning, practice, and mastery of these skills in yourself and your students.
Support Preparation:
Support the preparation of lessons and units, resources and technology, needs of neurodiverse learners and differentiated learning styles, implementation of culturally responsive classrooms.
Support and Maintain Strong, Positive and Productive Partnerships:
Communicate proactively, positively and consistently with students, teammates, and our community, fostering a collaborative and supportive community.
Reflect on Teaching:
Evaluate personal performance as well as develop and implement a professional growth plan.
Collegiality and Professionalism:
Champion a positive environment; promote an exchange of ideas and strategies; promote our school and its community’s development.
- Preferred:
Associate Degree or equivalent. - 2+ years of teaching experience or more.
- Required:
reading instruction experience and Building a Strong Foundation for Lifelong Literacy Success program completion through CDE. - Strongly preferred:
Amplify ELA. Orton Gillingham experience is a plus. - A passion for Next Generation learning.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to igniting curiosity, and making learning fun and challenging.
- Agility, adaptability and a high degree of change-readiness.
- Proficient use of computer software, Google Suite and learning management systems (Blackbaud preferred).
- Grant permission for a criminal background check upon hire.
