DISTRICT OVERVIEWMapleton Public Schools is a destination district for families and staff, offering small‑by‑design schools with standards‑based instruction. The district serves more than 6,700 students from toddlers to young adults across unincorporated Adams County, Thornton, and north Denver.
PROGRAM OVERVIEWThe Inclusive Learning Community (ILC) provides supports so students can succeed academically and access peers in the least restrictive environment. The program offers a continuum of intensive learning and center‑based services.

EDUCATION- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 0-2 years working with children in a school setting.
- Experience in health care, working with children with various learning and physical disabilities, or working on/with networks and integrated learning.
- Basic English, grammar, spelling, writing, word processing, keyboarding, and basic computer skills.
- Basic office equipment operation.
- General health care procedures.
- General office equipment preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Standard Precautions and Medication Administration may be required.
- Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education.
- Two additional mandatory training courses must be completed within 30 days of hire.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
JUDGEMENT AND DECISION MAKINGWork is assigned by supervising teachers and administrators. Requires independent judgment to manage students, maintain equity, and make rapid decisions. Decision making follows district, school, and state policies; all decisions involve the supervising teacher.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist teachers with lesson implementation, classroom maintenance, skill reinforcement, test administration, grading, instructional material preparation, schedule development, and clerical duties.
- Supervise students to classrooms, buses, field trips, playgrounds, and computer labs.
- Tutor students and lead small‑group activities.
- Support parents by interpreting during school functions and providing progress information.
- Assist with student health care, including first aid, medication dispensing, and health monitoring.
- Maintain health records, logs, reports, and medical supplies.
- Assist with computer technology: workstation maintenance, lab support, software and network troubleshooting, data backups, and report generation.
- Attend in‑services, building meetings, training, and school functions as required.
- Assist with lunch supervision.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Staff may require training from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) on non‑verbal de‑escalation and physical restraint, provided by the district at no cost. Refresher courses occur every 18-24 months.
DIVERSITY OF DUTIESRoles may cross‑train in health care, student management, special education, bilingual skills, or basic instructional skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSIncludes standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 200 pounds may be required. Vision demands close focus; pre‑employment agility/physical assessment required.
