Field Supervisor
The Field Supervisor supports alternative licensure candidates within their teaching assignments in Secondary or Special Education positions. The supervisor will coach and provide consistent and targeted instructional mentorship to candidates in accordance with Colorado Teacher Quality Standards, conducting lesson observations, debriefs, and meetings to assist each candidate in becoming an effective teacher. Field Supervising supporting teachers in Special Education will also provide mentorship in special education and elementary content.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Mentorship:
Assist candidates in the 27J INSIGHT Alternative Teacher Licensure Program (Secondary &/or K-12 Special Education) in meeting all requirements of the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards. Including Special Education and Elementary Education content for Sped. - Observations:
Conduct a minimum of 7 school visits (total) per school year for each assigned candidate during the active windows (Sept Nov / Jan April). This includes lesson observations tied to course learning, debriefs, and meetings with alternative licensure teachers during each visit. - Feedback:
Provide immediate, robust feedback on each lesson observed. - Documentation:
Complete and submit formal observation reports for every visit. - Evaluation:
Assess the candidate's proficiency levels according to the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards, Secondary content, and Sped/Elementary content. Communicate performance updates to the Workforce Development & Recruitment/Alternative Licensure Coordinator. - Collaboration:
Attend all required Program meetings and maintain consistent communication Workforce Development & Recruitment/Alternative Licensure Coordinator.
Education and Training Required
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. For Sped-Required
- Background in Special Education and Elementary Education
* Preferred:
Master's degree in a related field Experience
Required:
At least 5+ years of K-12 teaching experience.
Required:
Prior supervisory or mentoring experience (e.g., Principal, Department Chair, University Supervisor, or Mentor/Cooperating Teacher).
Skills, Knowledge and Equipment Ability to provide high-level instructional support and administrative oversight for assigned candidates. Deep understanding of the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards. For Sped:
Understanding of Special Education and Elementary Education Content. Proficient skills in candidate evaluation, mentorship, and delivering actionable performance feedback. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Required:
Possession of (or previous holding of) a valid teaching license.
* Preferred:
Administrative license.
Supervision/Technical Responsibility:
Responsible for assessing proficiency levels, conducting formal evaluations, and providing high-level instructional oversight for assigned alternative teacher candidates. Reports findings directly to the Alternative Licensure Instructor.
Physical Requirements and
Working Conditions:
Travel to and from various teaching sites throughout the week is an essential, required physical function of this role. Must be available during the day throughout the week. Work Environment:
Active 6-12 classroom environments across various district school locations.

Paid a flat rate of $700 per teacher supported. May support more than 1 teacher Benefits:
