Starting Rate: $22.50 - $26 /hour based on experience. Environment:

As an Instructional Aide
, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the success of students in Grades K-12 by providing personalized support, supervision, and guidance both in the classroom and within the community. You will collaborate closely with classroom educators to implement each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and tailor instruction to their unique learning needs.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to cultivate a supportive, welcoming, and high-achieving learning environment.
  • Implement engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on‑site and in community settings, aligned with each student’s goals.
  • Instruct and monitor students during lessons, ensuring instructional fidelity and applying targeted strategies to enhance comprehension and completion.
  • Track progress, communicate with teachers about successes and needed interventions.
  • Manage student behavior, enforce school policies, and apply consistent disciplinary measures.
  • Mentor students facing academic challenges, helping develop community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, and social skills.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of behaviors, performance, and observations; offer actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare behavioral reports, activity logs, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate proactively with students, colleagues, supervisors, and families about needs and achievements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all student records.
  • Participate in assurance, accreditation activities, and school-wide meetings to foster support.
  • Respond positively to feedback, demonstrating continuous professional growth.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support student success.
Qualifications

Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with basic skills test passage.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or a related field preferred.
  • Current or pending paraprofessional/para educator/education assistant credential preferred.
  • Ability to obtain company-approved crisis management certification.
  • Prior experience providing instruction or support to children, preferably in special education or behavioral health settings.
  • Proficiency working with students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral disorders, or related disabilities.
  • Ability to think, act calmly in emergencies, and make independent decisions.
  • Strong motivation and skill in having critical conversations that move students toward realistic goals.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology, including instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
