Special Education Inclusion Teacher - H.Y. Livesay Middle School

A Special Education Inclusion Teacher (Grades 5-8) in Tennessee provides direct specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities within the general education setting. They collaborate with general educators, adapt the standard curriculum to meet IEP goals, and monitor student progress toward state educational standards.

• Co-Teaching &
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Partner with general education teachers to co-plan, differentiate instruction, and co-teach lessons in the mainstream classroom.
• IEP Management:
  Write, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and hold regular meetings with parents and administrative staff.
• Accommodations & Modifications:
  Adapt assignments, tests, and classroom materials so students with diverse learning needs can access the grade-level curriculum.
• Progress Monitoring:
  Track student growth through regular assessments and adjust teaching interventions as necessary.
• Behavior Management:
  Create and execute targeted behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to support positive social-emotional growth.

• Licensure:
  Valid Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate Special Education endorsement
• Education:
  
  Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Skills:
  
  Strong knowledge of Tennessee state academic standards, child development, and local/federal IDEA laws
