Job SummaryThe Astronomy, Mathematics, and Physics Department is seeking an affiliate faculty member to teach a new, project‑based introduction to engineering course. This part‑time, in‑person position will involve teaching, grading, and designing course activities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Teach a course that introduces students to the profession of engineering and basic engineering skills through hands‑on projects that address community needs.
- Provide instruction and facilitate active problem‑solving appropriate for our students.
- Keep complete and accurate grade records and evaluate student performance.
- Communicate regularly with students and the department chair, including via Regis‑provided email.
- Maintain regular office hours (one hour per week) to provide academic support.
- Participate in designing the course in consultation with the department chair.
- Master’s degree in an engineering discipline or closely related field.
- Experience as a Professional Engineer.
- Teaching experience in a related field.
The course is scheduled for Tuesdays 11:10 am – 2:50 pm, with possible adjustment to accommodate the instructor’s schedule. Classes are held in‑person.
BenefitsBenefits‑eligible for workers’ compensation and eligible for 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
Pay Rate$3,225 per course.
