About This Role
The Augustana Early Learning Center is an outreach ministry that welcomes children of all faiths, cultures, and ethnicities. We provide a nurturing environment that promotes learning and well-being. We're seeking a full-time support ECE teacher to join our team of fantastic teachers! The ideal candidate is caring, energetic, and passionate about working with children.
What You'll Do- Facilitate daily activities that stimulate learning and development in preschool children
- Create a supportive environment that encourages each child's growth and well-being
- Observe and assess each child's progress, identifying opportunities to enhance their social competencies and self-esteem
- Organize and supervise activities, ensuring the children's safety and well-being at all times
- Foster positive relationships among children and promote social skills and conflict resolution
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Establish and enforce hygiene practices, including hand washing, bathroom routines, and snack and meal times
- Maintain open communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child's daily experiences
- Ensure compliance with Colorado licensing rules and regulations for Child Care Centers
- Develop and implement a creative curriculum that aligns with the Center's educational goals
- This position requires the ability to engage with children at their level, including assuming low postures such as kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, and sitting on the ground.
- Able to work in a classroom setting and outdoors on the playground, accommodating the children's needs and activities.
- Comfortable with soothing children who may be distressed or new to group care, providing comfort and reassurance as needed.
- Regular attendance is essential for this position, as it directly impacts the children's well-being and the team's success.
- Ability to lift 35lbs.
- Hold a Lead Teacher qualification or be currently pursuing the necessary coursework to achieve this certification.
- Work hours are from 8:00-5:00 pm.
An interest in or experience with outdoor education would be a valuable asset to our team.
